A new style of jeans has emerged and caused some denim drama online. Called the “Clear Knee Mom Jeans,” these pants are dividing the world while amassing varying opinions. Now the question is: Who does want to wear them?
Peep Show for Knees
For years, anybody who wanted to flaunt those nice knees while wrapped in denim would go for tattered or ripped jeans. These jeans have become staples in the wardrobe of many celebrities as they seem to never go out of style. However, there is a new style that might become a threat to the classic tattered jeans if it picks up.
The internet exploded as Topshop unveils the “Clear Knee Mom Jeans,” a new line of jeans that features “windows” over the knee area. The opening at the middle where the knees are supposed to peep through is not like the typical rip or tatter, but it literally is a window designed for those lower joints—a rectangle of clear plastic.
According to Metro, no one knows what exactly these jeans are for. Neither are people over the age of 21 would ever understand this new trend. Nevertheless, the jeans will flaunt your knees like merchandise on a display cabinet.
Mixed Reactions Here and There
On the other hand, according to BuzzFeed, this new style is probably something that “your mom” and Kanye West would both have in common. Nordstrom is selling it online for $95. The description goes, “Slick plastic panels bare your knees for a futuristic feel in tapered and cropped high-waist jeans.”
Will these jeans really have a future in the fashion world? Since it appeared it has received mixed reaction from people on Twitter. It is not too hard to notice how some people strongly despise the Clear Knee Mom Jeans. These haters say that those are the worst jeans that they have ever seen.
On the other hand, there are those who are very supportive of this new trend while some are left in a state of confusion.
The world has seen Lady Gaga in her meat suit, Madonna and her iconic cone-shaped brassiere, Miley Cyrus and her pasties and barely-there clothes and all the bold fashion statements that many celebrities have donned at red carpet events. It would be interesting to find out who among them would be the first to flaunt their knees in these new Mom Jeans.
