Army Capt. DeLisa Stiles suddenly received divorce papers from her husband of eight years. But instead of sitting around crying, she decided to undergo medical procedures to bring back her confidence.
She endured months of pain
Capt. Stiles who served in Iraq met her most challenging physical and emotional tests on a TV series titled The Swan. She had a brow lift, eye lift, tummy tuck and breast augmentation. She underwent those challenges and a major weight-loss plan to feel good about herself.
Born and raised in Texas, Stiles went through a four-month transformation process. They are not allowed to see their families during the show and the contestants frustrations, heartaches and their journey to beautification were laid out to the viewers.
Stiles, in particular, revealed during the show that before she received the divorce papers, her marriage had been rocky. She believed that her husband was not physically attracted to her anymore.
She was surely struggling while on the series, but the doctors who attended her, as well as the therapists supported her. They made sure that Stiles will be truly comfortable with her femininity after the show.
Stiles crowned as The Swan
As the show progressed, some of the contestants went home. Stiles, who went to the show with a masculine figure, was crowned The Swan. The judges believed that she was the one who changed and improved a lot.
She went to the series with a broken heart but emerged as a gorgeous woman after the show. Her dramatic change surprised the viewers and probably, after seeing her new look, her ex-husband might have regretted the day he sent the divorce papers to her.
Stiles’ husband might have ditched her because of her previous look but it did not rip her apart. Instead of feeling sorry for herself and trying to win her husband back, she gathered all of her strength and decided to be beautiful. Now her husband might have realized that leaving her was a mistake.
