Lady Cherie, the abused dog that was adopted and was returned 10 times, finally has a new family, Tyrella Frank and Renee Bourne. And the current owner created a custom wagon for Cherie which made the pet happy.
According to Little Things, Frank and Bourne decided to adopt the the three pawed dog from a shelter in San Antonio, Texas. The best of friends said they were looking around the place when they spotted Lady Cherie.
Couple liked a black dog but turned to Lady Cherie
Originally, the pair planned to take a black dog. But, when they saw the said to be abused dog lying in her kennel, they fell in love with it.
Despite the missing paw and anxiety problems, Frank and Bourne tried to gain its trust. After several hours of staying in front of the dog’s cage, they finally won her over.
They also considered the possibility that they have to return the dog because of its health problems. Yet, after a week, they perceived that it wanted to stay.
“She learned how to play in the week and she learned what treats were” said the owner. Lady Cherie was slowly changing for the better.
Dog mistreatment caused anxiety and depression
However, its physical issues were still there and were causing problems for the family owner. Due to the abused dog’s missing paw, the other three legs were strained.
She also had recurring infections that resulted to an injury to its legs. And, that made it impossible for Lady Cherie to walk again.
Regardless of that matter, the best buds did not give up on the dog. More even, they got her a wagon, noted The Dodo.
They, then, tucked blankets, pillows and push toys in the wagon to make their pet feel comfortable. Additionally, the pair got her a handmade leather collar.
The three pawed dog was still experiencing pain but she was happier than before. Frank and Borne was raising a fund for Lady Cherie so she could undergo a surgery.
