The Xbox Games With Gold August 2017 lineup has now been revealed. For the month of August, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to peruse through a selection of games available to them for free. These will include titles both for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Xbox Games With Gold August 2017: Xbox 360 Titles
One Xbox 360 game included for free by August is Bayonetta. The hack and slash video game was first released back in 2009 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was later re-released on the Wii U with its sequel, Bayonetta 2.
Red Faction: Armageddon will also be available for free. Notably, the third-person shooter game is the fourth entry in the Red Faction saga. It will be available for free from Aug. 16 to 31. Bayonetta, meanwhile, will be available from Aug. 1 to 15.
Xbox Games With Gold August 2017: Xbox One Titles
On the other hand, August’s Games With Gold roster includes the likes of Slime Rancher and Trials Fusion. A platform racing video game, Trials Fusion saw generally favorable reviews upon its release back in 2014. Several DLC (downloadable content) packs were later released to supplement the game further. However, such extra content will not be included with the Games With Gold package.
An interesting inclusion comes in the form of Slime Rancher. This game allows players to raise a farm of slime creatures. Slime Rancher will be available for the entirety of August. Meanwhile, Trials Fusion will be available from Aug. 16 to Sept. 15. It’s also worth noting that Xbox One users can also avail of the free Xbox 360 games thanks to the backwards compatibility program.

In other Xbox-related news, head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, recently divulged that preorders for the Xbox One X will come soon enough. “Our plan is set for this,” he writes regarding Xbox One X pre-orders. “All approvals are done so … [it] won’t be much longer.”
An exact date for pre-orders has yet to be announced. However, anticipating fans are ultimately hyped with the coming of the next Xbox console. Reportedly, the Xbox One X will be the smallest device in the Xbox line. Despite its compact body, it will also be the heaviest, weighing in at 8.4 pounds.
The Xbox One X is slated for a worldwide launch sometime in November. Reports claim that the console will cost $500. With Spencer’s tease of preorders, it seems like it is only a matter of time until fans will get their hands on Xbox’s upcoming console.
