Even at this day and age, women are often shamed for their physical appearance until they decide to do something about it. This was the case for Haleigh and her father Tom, that after having had enough with the ridicule, decided to transform herself through plastic surgery.
There are many reasons why people are overweight. In Haleigh’s case, she has struggled with an addiction to food for a long time as a teenager, while her father watched her go through the frustration and heartbreak.
It got to the point when Haleigh could not fit into plus-sized clothing and was even scared of flying or riding amusement park rides because the seatbelts would not fit her. She weighed 285 pounds, suffered from heart palpitations, high cholesterol, high blood pressure as well as polycystic ovaries.
And of course, Haleigh was also a victim of bullying. She was often bullied for her appearance at school that she had to drop out. Naturally, she tried to go on a diet, every diet out there but nothing seemed to work for her.
Under the Knife
Since regular diet and exercise no longer worked for Haleigh, she went under bariatric surgery which proved to be a success. Haleigh lost almost 143 pounds since the surgery and has decided to change her eating habits.
However, even though she lost a lot of weight, there was still a part of her that did not feel right. She was not confident of her new look just yet, and not even exercise and diet could help.
By the time Haleigh turned 23, her father decided to give her a big gift, as an effort to make his daughter feel great in her new body. Tom decided to give Haleigh some plastic surgery, to “complete her transformation.”
Tom said that her daughter had done all she could, and he wanted to do something for her. All he wanted was his for daughter to be happy with the way she looks and if plastic surgery could help, he will give it to her. Today, there is no doubt that Haleigh is a happier and more confident woman.
